Services Offered
The Aquatic and Sports Centre offers several services, including swimming lessons, public swimming, lap swims and various activities. Here is a brief description of other services offered.
Sauna
The sauna is available during the day and the evening. Hours of operation are the same as hours of scheduling for adult activities. Scheduling is posted in the adult change rooms.
Use of free items
Safety equipment such as life jackets is available for young children and non-swimmers. During public swims, clients can use water tubes, snakes, boards and training equipment free of charge.
Recreational equipment
The recreational pool offers several water games. The shallow section has a pirate’s boat, a small slide for young children and a water umbrella. The deeper section is equipped with a big water slide for older children. The lap pool, with six swimming lanes 25 meters in length, is equipped with a Tarzan rope.
Special needs equipment
The pool is equipped so that people with disabilities or special needs can enter the water easily and risk-free. A chair with a mobile lift allows persons in wheelchairs to enter the water directly. As well, access to the recreational pool is similar to entering the water at the beach: the decline starts at zero and gradually increases to 1.4 meters. Each change room is equipped with a shower for people with disabilities or special needs. As well, specialized equipment is available to help special-needs clients get dressed.
Locker rentals
All card-carrying members of the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre can rent lockers located in the change rooms. The cost is $75 a year. Please enquire at the reception desk.
Non-members can rent lockers at a minimal fee but they may also bring their own locks. However, personal locks must be removed each time they are used. Please enquire at the reception desk.
Bathing cap
Bathing caps are required for everyone except for completely bald persons. Bathing caps are on sale at the reception desk. Rentals of bathing caps are not available.
Diapers
It is forbidden to use standard disposable diapers or cotton diapers in the pool. Leak-proof swim diapers must be worn by all children who regularly wear diapers. Leak-proof diapers are available at the reception desk.
Towels
Please remember to bring your own bathing towel from home. If you forget, towels are on sale at the reception desk.
Food services
Healthy food and beverage choices are available in the observation deck area. A limited number of chairs and tables are available for people who wish to watch swimming sessions.
Pool bookings
If you would like to book a pool for a group or an organization, please fill in an application form available at the reception desk. Fees are based on services required such as length of time, number of people, lifeguards and instructors needed.
