Building Inspection
Whoever wishes to proceed with one of the following actions, within Dieppe City boundaries, must, in advance, have a building permit from the City of Dieppe.
- Construction work
- Transformation work
- Expansion work
- Addition to a building
- Changes in use of a building
- Construction work other than a building
- Construction relocation
- Demolition
- Backfill or excavation work
- A new electrical entrance or modifications to existing electrical system
- a patio
- a fence
- a sign
This is a reminder that the construction season has begun.
A building permit is necessary for any construction work done on a new structure, as well as for demolition, moving, modification of replacement of an existing structure. Changes in the use of a site or of a building can also necessitate a permit as well as the installation of a pool that is more than 24 inches in height.
The person asking for a permit should, preferably, call the department beforehand in order to receive pertinent information. The person will then come to the Inspection Department in order to have an inspector give out a permit. Call: 877-7855
