City Clerk's Office
The mission and functions of the Dieppe’s City Clerk are as follows:
· ensure that democratic and deliberative assembly procedures are respected;
· see that official operations are properly carried out;
· offer the legal support required by elected officials and local government;
· be the custodian of the municipality’s corporate seal;
· maintain the Council’s records, documents and minutes as well as all the original copies of the by-laws and motions carried in Council;
· prepare all agendas of the Council’s meetings;
· sign conventions, contracts, acts and other documents involving the municipality;
· inform all members of the Council of the sessions in which they will take part;
· act as Council secretary.
The Dieppe City Clerk also holds the position of Assistant Chief Administrative Officerand is responsible for the municipality’s operational departments, namely:
· Public Works and Engineering Department
· Community Recreation and Recreational Facilities Department
· Finance Department
· Fire Protection and Emergency Measures Department
· Municipal Buildings and Environment Department
· Planning and Development Department (urban planning and inspection)
