The City of Dieppe city council has adopted a 12-month pilot project that, as of July, will offer free Codiac Transpo bus service to Dieppe youth as part of its ongoing mission to encourage progressive measures that ensure the region’s sustainable development.

“We are very proud to offer this initiative to the youth of our city,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre. “This project gives our young people more independence, while giving them an added opportunity to help protect the environment,” he added.

The pilot project will begin July 2. Dieppe youth aged 17 and under will have free access to buses running within the City of Dieppe when they present a special pass for students aged 12 to 17. The program will also be offered to students under 12 who are accompanied by someone aged 12 and over.

“Students can begin signing up at City Hall in June,” said Luc Richard, Dieppe’s Director of Organizational Performance. “We will also be at various community events throughout the summer in order to have more opportunities to sign up.”

More information on how to sign up for passes will be available soon.

To consult the bus routes and schedules offered within the City of Dieppe, please visit dieppe.ca under the Living tab and go to the Transportation section, or visit codiactranspo.ca and click on Schedules & Routes.
