Dieppe launches initiative to better understand affordability of youth activities

The City of Dieppe is launching an initiative to better understand the financial accessibility of sports and recreational activities, as well as arts and culture programs offered to young people in the community.

As part of the initiative, a survey is being launched for parents in Dieppe. Your responses will help guide the City’s decisions regarding fees and accessibility.

Affordability study

The goal of this initiative is to obtain a clear and representative picture of the costs associated with activities for children and youth aged 5 to 18 and to determine how accessible these activities are to families in Dieppe.

The key questions guiding the initiative are as follows:

  • Are current registration fees in line with the financial means of families with children aged 5 to 18?
  • What are the costs of participating in the sports, recreational and leisure programs, as well as the artistic and cultural activities offered in Dieppe?
  • If these costs represent a barrier, what solutions could help make participation more accessible?

The City has retained the consulting firm, VIMINIO, to assist with information gathering and the analysis of the various pricing models currently in use.
