You are Invited to the Fire Department Open House

The Fire Department invites the general public to celebrate Fire Prevention Week at an open house event on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the fire station located at 500 Gauvin Road.

People of all ages are welcome to visit the information booths, tour the fire station and fire trucks, enjoy inflatable games and the photobooth, take part in the door prize draw and share a community BBQ in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

The 2026 theme focuses on safe batterie charging. “Many of the devices that we use every day pose à significant fire risk. Toys, cellphones, laptops, tablets, e-bikes—you name it,” explains Fire Chief Marc Cormier.

Fire Prevention Officer Christien Arsenault adds, “Charging our devices properly can significantly reduce the risk of fire. Always use charging cables approved by the manufacturer, never charge a device in bed and charge e-bikes, scooters and power tools outdoors and away from exits.”

Come and learn how to prevent fires and discover essential safety measures at this open house event on October 10.
