Passing of former mayor Clarence Cormier

Dieppe ,N.B.— It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Clarence Cormier, former councillor and mayor of Dieppe, former provincial MLA and minister of education.
Mr. Cormier was mayor of Dieppe from 1977 to 1982. Under his leadership, French became the official language of the then-town’s administration and simultaneous translation began being offered during municipal council meetings.

City of Dieppe Scholarship

To commemorate Disability Awareness Week from May 27 to June 1, 2012, the City of Dieppe will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a Dieppe resident living with a disability.
The recipient must be a post-secondary student or plan on being a post-secondary student in the fall of 2012.
All applications must be received at Dieppe City Hall by Friday, May 11, 2012, at 4 p.m.

Update on Domaine Dover Estates

The City of Dieppe wishes to update residents concerning the Domaine Dover Estates situation.
The municipal water supply to Domaine Dover Estates has been reconnected for more than a week. The boil-water order was lifted by the Department of Health on March 10.
