
Reconstruction of the Champlain and Acadie Intersection
Reconstruction work for the Champlain and Acadie intersection will start Monday, May 4 and will include :
- the replacement of the traffic lights,
- modifications to traffic islands and road markings,
- and the reconstruction of Acadie Avenue between Champlain and St-Laurent streets.
Construction schedule
Work will take place from early May to late June.
Night work — Reconstruction of the Champlain/Acadie intersection will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Work on Acadie Avenue will take place during the day, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Some work may also be carried out on weekends and evenings.
Traffic impacts
- Acadie Avenue (between Champlain Street and St-Laurent Street) will be closed for the entire duration of the construction.
- Starting May 19, the Champlain and Acadie intersection will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Businesses on St-Laurent Street will remain accessible at all times.
During the project
The nature of the work may require us to encroach on your property.
Once work begins, heavy equipment will be required to carry out the construction. Noise and vibration are to be expected.
We are committed to keeping the construction site clean and safe, and will make every effort to minimize inconvenience. However, dust and noise are unavoidable aspects of construction projects.
