
Discover l'Acadie’s intangible heritage at Doiron House
The City of Dieppe invites residents and visitors to celebrate Acadian heritage during Heritage Week 2026, taking place at Doiron House from February 13 to 15, 2026. This year’s theme is intangible heritage, with a varied program combining dance, music, crafts and gastronomy.
Program:
Introductory workshop on traditional dances
Friday, February 13, 6 to 7 p.m. – Doiron House, 1150 Amirault St.
Take part in a workshop on Chandeleur (Candlemas, a celebration marking the midpoint of winter) and the Escaouette dance, as well as a photo and song exhibition.
Free and open to all.
Organized in partnership with the Université de Moncton’s Centre d’études acadiennes Anselme-Chiasson
Family folk show
Saturday, February 14, 11 a.m. to noon – Doiron House
Join singer-songwriter Mario LeBreton for an interactive show featuring call-and-response songs from around the world.
Free and open to all, regardless of age.
Traditional soap-making workshop
Sunday, February 15, 10 a.m. to noon – Doiron House
Learn how to make soap the traditional way. All materials are supplied, and each participant will come away from the workshop with 10 to 12 bars of soap.
Cost: $60 per person (pay on site by cash or card)
Ages 18 and over

Presentation on the history of Acadian cuisine
Sunday, February 15, 3 to 4:30 p.m. – Doiron House
Join Anne Godin, host, actor, speaker and storyteller, for a talk on the history of Acadian cuisine, followed by a tasting of molasses galettes.
