Dieppe Proud to Host the 2026 Esso Cup
At the Esso Cup 2025 in Lloydminster, Alberta, Hockey Canada announced that Canada’s Under-18 Women’s National Club Championship will be held at the UNIplex in Dieppe.
From April 19 to 25, 2026, downtown Dieppe will come alive with the energy of women’s hockey as the Moncton Rockets, members of the Maritime Major Female Hockey League (MMFHL), welcome five regional champions to compete for the Esso Cup. This marks a historic first for New Brunswick—it will be the province’s debut as host of the prestigious Esso Cup.
The tournament is made possible through a partnership between Hockey Canada, Hockey New Brunswick, and the City of Dieppe.
“Dieppe is recognized as the largest Acadian city in the world and the largest Francophone community in Canada outside of Quebec. We’re very proud to be able to host an event of this magnitude, which will bring lasting benefits to our residents,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.
The municipality is home to several modern, multifunctional facilities that serve the diverse needs of the community.
Chief among them is the UNIplex, a 100,000-square-foot facility located in the heart of the city that offers services to the entire community, both young and young at heart. The UNIplex promotes an active and healthy lifestyle and has successfully hosted numerous cultural and sporting events since its opening in 2020. It is also the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken by the City of Dieppe.
“We’re excited to offer young athletes a memorable sporting and cultural experience in an environment where Acadian pride remains strong,” added Mayor Lapierre.
We look forward to welcoming you to Dieppe in April 2026 to celebrate the elite of Canadian women’s hockey at the Esso Cup!
