“Dieppe Celebrates Acadia” Back with a Bang!
The world’s largest Acadian city will once again come alive on August 15, 2025, to celebrate National Acadian Day taking place at the Musiqu’Art site. This year’s festivities feature 1755 who will retire later this year, as well as a special farewell performance by Reveil, The Mainlanders, LGS, Moyenne Rig and additional guests!
A family event, in French
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. The celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. with family-friendly activities, including bouncy castles until 7 p.m. and an Acadian craft workshop from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Food and bar service will be available on site.
A rich musical program
The official ceremony begins at 5:40 p.m. with the raising of the Acadian flag, followed by the traditional singing of Ave Maris Stella. At 5:55 p.m., the traditional tintamarre parade will make its way through downtown Dieppe, inviting everyone to make as much noise as possible.
From 3 p.m. to midnight, a full musical lineup will take the stage, including performances by Moyenne Rig, LGS, Reveil, 1755 and guests, as well as The Mainlanders.
New This Year: DIY Acadia – August 9
New this year: In partnership with the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre, a new pre-tintamarre event, DIY Acadia, will be held at Place 1604 on August 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families are invited to get ready for August 15 by creating headbands, noisemakers, and children’s tutus in Acadian colours. Bring a white shirt to make your own tie-dye design. The morning program also features story time and a live performance by a singer. All activities are free!
Celebrating Acadian culture
For Emélie Gallant, community officer for the City of Dieppe, the event is much more than a show: “It’s an opportunity for everyone to celebrate la francophonie, our culture, and our history. We’re proud to offer a free, inclusive event for the entire community,” she says.
