Last night, the City of Dieppe hosted its annual Les Chalins gala dedicated to volunteers who, day after day, forge the bonds that make our community strong.
Named after the Acadian word for the flashes of lightning that illuminate the sky on warm summer nights, the event celebrates residents whose quiet, yet essential dedication brightens life in Dieppe. This year’s edition provided an opportunity to recognize people with inspiring journeys, all driven by the same conviction: that the common good is built together.
“Every year, I am struck by the diversity and depth of our volunteers’ commitment,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre. "Behind every initiative, project and activity that brings our city to life, there are people who give their time and hearts without reservation. Tonight, we pay them a well-deserved tribute."
The gala was held in front of an audience gathered to celebrate these everyday heroes, in a growing city whose vitality depends largely on civic engagement.
