Dieppe Inaugurates Its First Community Food Space
The City of Dieppe invites residents to celebrate the launch of its first-ever community food space, an ecological and community-focused project located near the Aquatic Centre. The free event will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Designed as a sustainable, low-maintenance gathering place, the garden will feature more than 30 perennials, 15 fruit trees and a variety of shrubs. Visitors will discover haskap berries, goji berries, apple trees, cherry trees and more, all available for the community to enjoy.
Beyond providing fresh, healthy food, the garden will enrich local biodiversity, create a habitat for pollinators and offer a welcoming space for neighbours to connect.

A flourishing collaboration
This project was made possible through the collaboration of the City, the local provincial regional resiliency committee, EOS Eco-Energy, Horizon Health Network, Vitalité Health Network, the New Brunswick Public Library Service, and the Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick United Way.
Funding comes from the economic benefits generated by the City’s Tree Bylaw, which allows Dieppe to reinvest in concrete, sustainable initiatives like this one.
