Dieppe Launches the Fricot Franco Festival

The City of Dieppe is proud to announce the launch of a new Acadian and francophone festival: the Fricot Franco Festival. This annual event, which will take place from August 12 to 16, 2026, in the heart of downtown Dieppe, will celebrate the culture, language and vitality of La Francophonie.
A festival born of community pride
The City of Dieppe has decided to create this community-building event to showcase Acadian culture. Proud of its identity, the municipality aims to provide residents and visitors with a unique platform to highlight the French language and Acadian heritage through music, laughter and the arts. The Fricot Franco Festival builds on Dieppe’s rich traditions while opening the door to new ways of experiencing and sharing La Francophonie.
“Dieppe is a city that moves, sings and celebrates!” With the Fricot Franco Festival, we are taking a new step forward in our efforts to promote our culture. It’s an event that reflects who we are: festive, inclusive and proudly francophone. “I am convinced that this festival will become a must-attend event for the entire region,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.
“Dieppe has long been known for its large gathering on August 15.” To give our Acadian and francophone identity the recognition it deserves, it was only natural to extend the festivities over several days. “The Fricot Franco Festival is an opportunity to experience our culture fully over an extended period, to welcome artists from here and elsewhere, and to create lasting memories for our families and visitors,” said Denis LeBlanc, Director of Community Living.

The Fricot Franco Festival was designed to welcome people of all ages in a festive and inclusive atmosphere. Program highlights include:
