DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe invites residents of all ages to celebrate National Public Works Week from May 21 to 27, 2023. This year’s theme is “Connecting the World Through Public Works.” Many activities have been organized to highlight the importance of the work done by the employees in this sector.

“Public works have a daily impact on the quality of life of residents and we are proud to invite the general public to learn more about what we do,” says Valérie Michaud, a water and sewer system operator with the City of Dieppe. “With the pandemic now taking a backseat, we are ready to welcome young and old alike throughout National Public Works Week, and we even have a few surprises in store!”

  • Saturday, May 20: heavy equipment exhibition at the Dieppe Market and distribution of passports, 8 a.m.–1 p.m. (232 Gauvin Road)
  • Tuesday, May 23: guided visit of the Aquatic and Sports Centre and its machinery room in the basement, 4–7 p.m. (111 Aquatique Street)
  • Tuesday, May 23: UNIplex open house, 4–7 p.m. (450 College Street)
  • Wednesday, May 24: water tower open house, 4–7 p.m. (1454 Amirault Street)
  • Thursday, May 25: Operations Centre open house, 9 a.m.–7 p.m. (100 Rufin Street) with free BBQ from noon–1 p.m. and from 4–6 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 25: industrial park pumping station open house, 4–7 p.m. (696 Babin Street)

Participate in National Public Works Week activities for a chance to win one of three Visa gift cards from the City.

Visit the municipal facilities listed above on the dates indicated and submit your completed passport at the Operations Centre open house or the pumping station tour to be eligible. The draw will take place on May 26, 2023.
