Due to dry conditions and the increased risk of wildfires in the province, the City of Dieppe is announcing the temporary closure of certain parks, trails and sports fields within its territory until further notice.
The following facilities are closed as of today:
- Rotary St-Anselme Park – all trails (park open, BBQs prohibited)
- Bonaventure Park – all trails)
- Faisan Park (between Richard Street and Melanson Road)
- Disc Golf courses – Lakeburn and Mathieu-Martin
- Wooded trails: Richard Street, Melanson Road, Dieppe Boulevard, Aquatique Street, Doreen Crescent, Bourque Road, du Golf Street, Maurice Crescent, Boisée Street, Tranquille Street, Centrale Street, Vanier Street, and Avant-Garde Street
Outdoor trails such as the riverfront trail remain open to the public.
The Block Party for Ward 5, scheduled for August 12 at Rotary St-Anselme Park, is cancelled.
Members of the Dieppe Fire Department are currently mobilized in Irishtown to assist with the ongoing situation.
The City of Dieppe is closely monitoring the situation and working with provincial authorities to ensure everyone’s safety. We thank residents for their understanding and cooperation.
We encourage everyone to have a 72-hour emergency kit with all the essentials needed to face an unexpected situation. For more details: dieppe.ca/72hours
