Ceremony to commemorate Dieppe Raid

DIEPPE, N.B. – The Dieppe War Veterans Association and the City of Dieppe are hosting a ceremony to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Dieppe Raid on Sunday, August 18, at Place 1604.
The raid, the most devastating of the Second World War, took place on August 19, 1942, on the beaches of Dieppe in Normandy, France. The losses were enormous for Canada: 913 soldiers died while 2,000 others became prisoners of war.

DIEPPE (N.B.) — Dieppe KITE International welcomes Zachary Richard, Suroît, George Belliveau, Wilfred LeBouthillier and Réveil tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc parking lot for a concert that is sure to stir up a lot of strong emotions.
Tickets on sale at Jean Coutu in Dieppe, Shediac and Mountain Road, Memramcook Home Hardware, Higho Market in Saint-Antoine or billetterieacces.ca at a cost of $25 in advance or $35 at the door. The concert is free for children ages 12 and under.

DIEPPE (N.B.) — Activities continue at Dover Park with the Dr. Martin Orthodontist Community Zone, kite-flying demonstrations, a free flight, kite-creation tent, as well as a concert by Big Bad Marty Band and Jacques Comeau at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre.

Lane reduction on Champlain Street

DIEPPE (NB) — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that one lane will be closed on Champlain Street on Thursday August 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., from CCNB-Dieppe (community college)to Place 1604, due to festivities around National Acadian Day.
Acadian colours will be on full display with a vehicle tintamarre (noise parade) leaving at 5:30 p.m. from Dover Park and travelling to CCNB-Dieppe (via Dover Road, Amirault Street and Champlain Street). The tintamarre will then proceed...

DIEPPE (N.B.) — Dieppe KITE Festival activities are well underway as the festival continues to attract large crowds.
Don’t miss the start of the vehicle tintamarre tomorrow beginning at 5 p.m. at Dover Park as it heads to CCNB-Dieppe (community college). Kite fliers will be at Place 1604 for the opening of National Acadian Day celebrations with Francelle Maria, Fayo and Laurie LeBlanc.
