Community gardens returning to Dieppe this year

DIEPPE, N.B. — Following the success of last year’s community gardens project, the program is returning for 2013.
The gardens provide an opportunity for residents to grow vegetables, berries, herbs or various annuals or perennials on municipal property.
The municipality will support the initial and annual development of the gardens. This includes work such as tilling the soil and delivering soil and compost.

Work on Sunset Street

The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that Sunset Street,
between Acadie Avenue and Paul Street, will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m
Motorists are advised to use Ste-Thérèse Street or Régis Street as a detour route.

Seniors in Motion Program

DIEPPE, N.B. — The Seniors in Motion Program encourages active living through wellness activities and social outings. Activities are organized by the City of Dieppe and held once per month.
Scheduled February activity:
Thursday, February 21 – Ceramic mosaic creation workshop
Create a piece that you may use as a wall or table decoration. The workshop begins at 10 a.m. at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre. Cost is $15 per person.

Heritage Week Exhibit

The City of Dieppe is hosting an exhibit themed “Water, the source of life…” as part of Heritage Week taking place February 12 to 18.
An eight-panel exhibit produced in collaboration with the Petitcodiac Riverkeeper focusing on the Petitcodiac River and its impact on the area will be available for viewing at the entrance of Dieppe City Hall during Heritage Week.

Closure of Acadie Avenue

The City of Dieppe wishes to advise residents that Acadie Avenue, between du Marché Street and Chartersville Road is closed due to a fallen hydro pole.
